Everyone has a story. Here's a little more of mine...
My background in professional photography goes back 15 years. I had just graduated from the photography program at Fanshawe College (a.k.a. Fun-Shawe, which totally lived up to it's name! ...that's a story for another time.) and I was fresh out of college with no idea how to start a full-time photography business.
Not knowing where to start and feeling afraid of, well pretty much everything, I leaned into my other passion -- helping people -- and it quickly led me to my first 'real job' in the non-profit sector.
I thought of it as a creative outlet and something I would "one day" do full time.
I always kept photography as a side hustle (I thought of it as a creative outlet and something I would "one day" do full time), but I was content working my way up different non-profit organizations gaining so much valuable experience and impacting the world in such a positive way.
I reached the peak of my non-profit career as the lead Project Manager for a multi-million dollar program with the Canadian government to support small business owners.
At this time I was also going through some personal challenges. My anxiety was at an all time high and I would find myself frequently struggling to breathe. I made the brave decision to ask for help from my doctor and I started taking medication. It was also around this time that I lost some very special people in my life.
There was a shift happening inside me...a faint whisper growing louder and louder. I knew it was time to listen.
The Universe was sending me all sorts of messages and I was so exhausted I had no choice but to try and slow down. There was a shift happening inside me...a faint whisper growing louder and louder.
I knew it was time to listen.
To be continued...
